    New Owner

Hello. We are new owners of a 1976 Encounter 3050. Well, we are transitioning from a 25 foot sailboat. We are working on restoring, and are trying to locate the HIN numbers. We have it registered, but would like to find the numbers. Also we cannot find one like it. The cabin has 2 porthole windows and teak doors and trim. Have we been told the wrong model? Thanks for any help.

There were two very similar models in those days. The Bounty, a 28 with a 10’ beam where the Encounter was 30’ and about 11 or 12’ wide. Both were command bridges. On a side by side, the Encounter has more hull above the join line than the Bounty.

The dimensions and weight match up with the Bounty with the pictures online. But the second picture you posted of the Encounter is identical. We are 28 feet long, with a 9.5 beam. I don't have any exterior pictures on my Computer. Should I be posting elsewhere? If so sorry. Anything else I will move to another part of the forum.

Most 70s Bountys had no pothole, but I've seen a few.
are those potholes below the rubrail or above?

Portholes are at entrance to cabin . I have not seen any images with this window and door like this. It is a 1976. I love all the wood it has.

That is all custom work. I was referring to your bow portholes if she has any... that would make it easy to determine.

Custom huh, well that explains why I haven't seen any like it. No, no other portholes. When you say custom, was this offered by Bayliner, ? This is when we first brought it home. Getting it ready for fresh bottom paint, and some of the stripes have been removed that were thrown on later. We had a bee problem, "had" and no longer thank goodness.

That's a Victoria 2750 with an eight feet beam, no walk around.

By no walk around, you mean outside the cabin area, to the bow? That is there to access the anchor with out having to go through the cabin hatch.

Hey ruff! I gotta disagree. Those twin engines are too far apart to be a Vicki. A twin Vicki would have had something like 470’s although from what I can see those look like Volvo’s. I’d like to see a picture how it sits on that trailer. Right now, that looks like a Bounty to me.

Pete, one more evidence I can tell she's a Vicki is by looking at her bow rail... both Bounty & Enconter bow rails run much farther back.
Bayliner did make a very rare twin engine Vicki... with a pair of Volvo Penta AQ140s.
and yes, I've seen a 79 Vicki with a pair of Mercruiser 470 also.
Then again, I took another closer look...
I do see the walk around on her now & more importantly 2 engine vents above the rub rail.
Pete, you are correct! that is a Bounty 2850.
Vicki only had one engine vent on her side.

Hello again. Didn't know is this should be a new topic elsewhere. I need the gunnel height from waterline. Plus I need the depth draw. Non of what I have shows that. I need it for the marina. Thanks in advance.
