Newbie Looking into 33 to 38 Bayliner convertible

Hi everyone, I'm in the research stage looking at purchasing a 33 to 38" Bayliner, Silverton or Meridian convertible. Year 2000 and newer I know of the gas and diesel debate but most of the smaller Bayliners have the Cummins 4BT which sound like a dog to me. boat will be kept in San Diego. any tips from you owners out there will be appreciated.

    Dan,
you may be interested in the 3988 model. Twin staterooms and heads with an up galley. Very nice and functional boat to entertain on. The early models came with Hino’s 250 HP I believe but post 2000 models all had big Cummins, up to 330 HP each.

3388 production years were from 1996-2000.
Cummins 4BTA 250s were offered on this MY.
Starting 2001, this model became a 3488, then later on Meridian 341.
Short lived 3788 production years were from 1996-1999. I don't believe 4BTAs were available for this MY, 6BTAs were.
Totally different boat, an updated 3788 came back in 2001, then later on Meridian 381.
