  • New Bayliner...almost...-gctid821180

Hi...my name is Nick and I've been looking for a 38 for some time now. Have narrowed it down and waiting for my Ericson 38-200 to sell.

My story unfolds...I was looking for a trawler for some time. Then it dawned on me...why would I want to get out of one 7 1/2 knot boat for another...? I went through a period of looking for "fast trawlers" to no avail. Then I remembered there was one boat I really admired in a club I belonged to a while back - the Bayliner 38xx. Combining my need for diesels, interior creature comfort and all the cruising amenities I went after the Bayliner 38xx.

I'm anxious to learn lots about this boat...hoping I've landed on the right corner of the net...

    Thanks in advance...

Indeed, you have. Welcome! The "big" captains have a lot to share about this size boat.

The Bayliner 38 series of motoryachts are among the best boats ever designed and built by Bayliner. They are highly sought boats.

We have had our1988 3818 for almost a year now and are loving it. We have made quite a few changes that include revising the fly bridge ladder and galley cabinets. We have found that no matter what speed we are running the boat is comfortable.

Personally, I prefer the normally aspirated diesels because of their simplicity.
