Hello all,

I recently purchased the Element E18 with the 115 Mercury 4 stroke. I just replaced the factory Black Max propeller with a 4 Blade Spitfire from Mercury. The factory propeller had the flo torq II hub kit and that is what came with the spitfire. After installation, there is very slight movement of the prop on the shaft. Is this normal? I torqued it to proper specs and all components are installed correctly. I have read that slight movement is normal, but also that is shouldn't move. I haven't taken it out on the water yet, but plan to soon and I will report back on the performance.

Welcome! Your question is better asked under the technical forum and may get more responses. Also add some basic information to your signature so we can answer your questions using some local knowledge.

As to the prop movement, is it fore and aft or like the prop is sloppy on the shaft. Fore and aft isn't usually a problem unless you forget the thrust washer at the front of the prop. Install the old one and compare the fit and that should give you a good idea of what you are looking for.

No, it's not slop. It might move an 1/8 of an inch and no Side to side movement. I removed it and compared the thrust washers. They are a match. I'm not sure how to add information to my signature lol, but I'll figure it out and add some info, thanks

Click on the profile tab and fill in the blanks. I always left mine with a little room to slip so I didn't have an issue with dissimilar metals corroding together. That and a healthy coating of anti seize grease.
