    Trim pump issues-gctid814802

Hello fellow bayliner owners, I have a 88 bayliner capri with a ford 2.3 liter omc engine. I had a trim pump failure and got a new motor. The new motor worked for 4 days then failed. I had the original motor rebuilt and reinstalled it. I replaced the solenoid with a new one and tried the pump and all it does is click. I am a n auto mechanic by trade and I'm boggled why it's not working. Is there something that I'm missing? Please HELP, summer is wasting away and I want to hit the water.

Check your grounds and battery condition / voltage. Sounds like when the solenoid engages the motor it's too much amperage draw and your getting a voltage drop that is high enough to drop the solenoid.

Also those trim cylinders can freeze up so you will probably need to lubricate and cycle them until they are in proper working order again.
