I am down around Wilmington. And the bottom is in great condition. It doesn't have bottom paint because it spends its life on the trailer. The guybigotnit from has owned it since 2006 and his buddy he bought it from bought it new. It has around 300 hours on it is what he told me. He didn't use it much because he lived a hour from the lake.

Welcome William!. Which part of the coast? I moved to the mountains of NC Jan 2015 and got a bigger boat. What was I thinkin! I spent the 4 years prior to that though right on the ICW in Coinjock. Currituck Co between the Currituck and Albemarle Sounds. Loved it there. Boated almost every day. Best things I relied on were the Chartplotter/ GPS ( out of the channel, it got really shallow really quickly) and replacement stereo with AUX receptacle ( afternoon naps after work once the GPS got me somewhere off-channel with water under me) for Buffett tunes. How's the bottom paint look? I had raw knuckles from going at the barnacles underneath..... But then mine lived in the water more than she dod out... If it's been a lake boat .... hard to tell from the picture if it even has bottom paint. The rivers up where I was had very dark water, I think I remember hearing someone saying from tannins in the soil inland that gets into the swamps and on out in the sound. Looked like Iced tea.

Good looking boat for its age. Keep a close eye on your sea tow membership. Older boats have all kinds of gremlins. I've been able to get all my old boats back to dock on my own but it was close a couple of times. It's going to take some time to learn the boat and start to recognize when something isn't right.

My alternator did fail and catch fire on the same engine. Make sure you have fire extinguisher handy.

    Hello from coastal nc-gctid814793

How's everybody doing. My name is William and I just purchased a 94 Capri 1950 with a 3.0 mercruiser. Boat is in really good condition for the year and has previously been a lake boat. But I am going to be using it in the river and the ocean area. Any things I should check or keep a eye on in the process?? Hasn't been used since last year but started right up after input gas in it (prev owner ran it out of gas at end of season last year).
