    Hi-gctid809871

    I bought a boat.

1990 bayliner Capri. Engine wouldn't turn.

Bought a bunch of parts, fixed a bunch of stuff.

Still waiting for more to show up.

But it runs. Clean title on boat and trailer. 300 bucks.

    Solid floors and whatnot.

Hopefully it'll be in the water in a week.

Can't afford a nice boat. Gotta make a cheap one nice enough.

Rix, Welcome! The trailer is worth more than $300! From the picture it looks like, running or not, you missed a zero on what you paid. The most common request following the welcome is for you to add some basic information about you and your boat and where you plan to use it. There are members of this site all over the world and it's fun to meet with other members, help, get help, swap sources, maybe do some creative perjury (mostly about fishing I think). Your picture already gave away that at least the boat is from Washington State. That's a clarification for the eastern guys, certainly not a recognition of Moo U in Pullman.

    Again, Welcome!

Echoing Pcpete, that is a very good deal!

Should I put all the repair pics here or in a thread in the cuddy cabin section?

        Oh...I'm Rick.

        I'm in Tacoma Washington.

Swapping titles and 2 years of tabs was less than 200 bucks.

I've busted out another thousand or so in new and used parts.

So far I'm considering myself ahead of the game.

If it runs and doesn't sink, you are definitely ahead of the game!

            Hi, Rick!

Post to whichever section your need is. Technical is for mechanical and electrical issues, though kickers and certain rebuilds are covered there too. General Boating is for just that. If in doubt, just start posting and the moderators will place them where they belong.

BTW, your signature, .....if it has a motor, there is no such thing as a cheap boat.

Hey there... I think we have the same boat.... 90 cuddy cabin with force l-drive. I did a complete rebuild of the floor and interior. Motor checked out fine and i will be doing my maiden voyage this coming weekend. I had the same idea of "making a cheap boat nice"

Yeah my hull and floor were good.

The out drive...... Not so much

                  Oh dear.

                  It's an L Drive.

You're in for it, my friend.

That part is fixed and back together.

Now its runnability and trim. And a bunch of little stuff.

But yes, that l drive thing is a nightmare when its treated like this one was.

I think my runnability may be poor connections. Planning on getting into that tonight.
