UPDATED: I picked the boat up.....
2003 Bayliner Capri 2152 Cuddy Classic
Back story. I grew up with boats since age 5 (45 now) But never owned my own boat. I have my dads 1977 Century 210 Raven Cuddy that needs about $8,000+ in repairs/updates. I decided to look at 2000 to 2004 Capri Cuddy Classic 2152.
Originally my goal/requirements were: Fuel injected, V6, modified V, low draft, 6 seats, cuddy and porta potty
in the end I found out that engine size (smaller) did not mean way better gas millage and since finding the fuel injection conversion kits i am looking at 5.0 V8 mercruisers now.
I have one I plan on making a final offer on this weekend.
I have a water front vacation house on the Corrotoman River in Virginia. In the process of getting brand new pier built and a boat lift (a 1st for me).
Since I have such a high and low tide range I will have to also rent a slip at my community marina on days I come back on ultra low tide. With that I will also paint the boat bottom.
I love the bayliner and Capri line because it gave me all i was looking for in a boat. a cheap way to get into boating life myself, solid reliable engine and a brand that is so familiar allot of after market companies make items for it .
I plan on cruising and sightseeing all the restaurants and tourist regions to visit (tangier Island) 80%
and some fishing 10%
10% unknown...
Future plans I have are:
Fuel Injection Kit
Fresh Water Kit
LED head lights (allot of my neighbors go out at night)
blue led interior light bling lol
ps: what is everyone using for navigation/gps and prices? the tech out today compared to my dads early 80s stuff is mind blowing.
Ill post a picture once i pick her up.
