    Hello!

We are excited to be a part of this great website of fellow Bayliner owners, where we can learn so much and offer up help to others from our experience. Here is the list of boats, I think in order that we have owned over the past 30 or so years.

    18ft Searay O/B

    15ft Olympic O/B

18ft Wellcraft fish center console O/B

    21ft Wellcraft 350/Alpha 1

17ft Boston Whaler Outrage 150 Yamaha, 63 mph

    26 Fiberform Flybridge 350/Alpha 1

18ft Robalo center console 150 Yamaha, from the movie Free Willy

    27ft Seasport 7.4L/Volvo DP

    18ft Tiderunner Yamaha 115

We have operated in a wide variety of waters in Washington state, from the mouth of the Columbia river, Neah bay, and the San Juans to the South Sound and Hood Canal. We used to fish more often but find ourselves crabbing and shimping more. We decided to change our boating lifestyle because of our state poor choices on transportation solutions causing long backups at all times of the day, we were tired of sitting on the Freeway to go Boating. So we wanted a bigger boat and leave it at Dagmars in Everett and our weekend starts when we step on the boat 20 minutes from our home. We found our 2858 for sale in Dag's and after a sea trial, and some other sea trials on big block boats, we made an offer and became owners. Now, finally with some better weather I am getting a pair of GPS / Sonars installed, with new batteries, new bimini, 1 new VHF, New bilge pump, getting the props checked, windlass, inverter, and other stuff. Then mount the RIB correctly and we should be set to cruise. We look forward to the new experiences.

Did you buy an off the shelf bimini, or custom? IF off the shelf, what size and brand did you get, and are you happy with it?

I will buy all canvas from Leta's Top Shop in Arlington WA. They have moved out by the Arlington Airport. The prices can't be beat, and she has the original templates from US marine. She also will ship them. They are pretty easy to install also. She quoted me 1000.00 for the Bimini. Ted's upholstery quoted me 2800.

Welcome! Really enjoying my own '96 2858. Might be PM'ing you about the bimini.... been considering one for a while, but my local guy charges a lot, (although he does do absolutely stellar work!).... more than double what you've been quoted from Leta's.

Cool, no problem. She regularly ships. If you need any help on the new boat, this is the place for help. Our 2858 is new to us too, just wanting to get some hours under the hull some we can feel good about cruising in your home area!
