    2016 bayliner 195 deck boat-gctid803718

We are looking at purchasing the 2016 bayliner 195 deck boat.

Any opinions or experiences with this boat or similar boat ?

The boat battery placement location on this boat is a bit odd to me, it is behind the passenger side cushion in a compartment , similar location to the cooler storage location but passenger side of the boat. Anyone see a battery in this location before? Any concerns?

This would be a our 1st bayliner boat.

We currently have a 1990 180 chapparel bow rider.

My wife and I bought a 195db in early March. We have only been able to take it out for about 1 1/2 hours and so far we are happy with it.

The only reason we haven't been out more is the weather here in eastern Washington has been rainy. It is also our first Bayliner, we have had an old Olympic and an old Fiberform.

The battery is in an odd spot, but so far I have no concerns. The layout of the boat is pretty awesome though, it's nice and roomy. If you buy it enjoy it.

Good to hear you like it so far.

Is your battery port side too, behind the passenger cushion in the small storage area under a small lift up hatch?

We go to do paper work and test ride next week.

Battery in stern behind passenger cushion? Port side? If so, mine is there and no problems. Easy to access and work on. Not a deck boat, though.

Port side yes. But not in stern. It is in the area where the glove compartment would be, but on the deck boat is actually a storage compartment behind a cushion. Then once in that storage compartment you lift up a small hatch and then that is where the battery is. Weird spot, not sure how easy it would be to take the battery in and out, also it is at mid point of the boat length.

Not sure why it wouldn't be by the engine in the stern.

I am going to ask when we go back to see it this coming Wednesday.

Don't know much about your new boat, but starting batteries are generally very close to starter and alternator, for good electrical safety reasons. I would definitely ask about this, especially iwhether the compartment is properly vented and the conductors are properly sized. Seems odd, for sure.

yes it is port side, behind the passenger cushion then under another the lift up hatch. It is definitely an odd spot for it, but may be easier when adding accessories later down the road. I haven't added any yet so I'm not sure.

When we bought ours I did ask our dealer and the didn't have an answer for the batter for being where it is, they did think it was odd, even with the room under the back near the engine compartment. But the boat has a lot of storage that is one nice thing.

I have a 190 Deck boat and love it. My battery is housed at the back port side. its out of the way there. I havent had any issues with the battery. Love the boat. Lots of space and lots of storage.

Where do you mount the fire extinguisher on these deck boats?

I haven't mounted mine yet. Still trying to figure out the best spot for it.

Chief Alen that looks like it would be great, but the problem still would be where to mount it.

On my 210 Deck boat, I mounted on the console under the wheel, about 2" in from on the left - it's out of the way but still very handy

Our new boat actually came with an extinguisher mounted, it is sideways and by the battery shut off switch under a bench seat cushion.

I thought I was going to have to install one, so nice that I don't have to worry about it.

But I am concerned because swim deck bolts stick up into sea decking. The marina contacted bayliner about this issue, waiting to hear back.
