Changed my first watermaker membrane today

Today was a first for me. I got to change out a watermaker membrane.

Here is a video (not of me) of the process you go through.

What I found REALLY interesting about this is that there was a bunch of salt buildup making the removal part kind of a bugger.

My membranes are 3 years old and have a bunch of hours on them, and thousands of gallons of water produced.

This one failed suddenly. One day it was working perfect, and the next day it seemed like it had a hole in it.

I bought two membranes, but decided to only change one. I really want to see what life I get out of these and I feel that my membrane didn’t wear out, it just failed.

But... I am too happy to be producing a full 40 GPH of nice pure water again!

Oh, Big shout Out to Rich Boren over at Cruise RO.

He is the epitome of the small businessman that cares. You email him on a Saturday night and he will probably answer.

That kind of customer service is hard to beat!
