    Boat lights

Nice article about upgrading the lights on a boat to save energy.

I replaced all my 10W halogen bulbs with LED bulbs.

Went from a max draw that I measured at almost 60 amps, to almost zero. Low enough to be difficult to dissertain using my Xantrex SOC meter.

Spent less than $2 a bulb off of Ebay. :-)

I have a mix of led, fluorescent and standard bulbs. The most common used and anything non functioning have been converted to led. There are still a lot of rarely used fixtures that have not been converted. I have been so over run with large projects this winter that I haven’t had any time for fun easy things like lights and shades.

I have a bunch of old bulbs if anyone wants them.
I also converted the 12v lamp lights to these:

I Only have a few energy sucking lights left on board...

These old things are flexible and efficient with LEDs.
Bought on EBay and renovated. 70’s lol

I had like 60 hallogens 50w two per pot with the pins, because the were 120v ac it took a long time to find replacements in led. Got those in back in september. The same size is not quite as bright but to get the same lumems the bulbs where just a tad too big. I erred on the side of caution so they fit just right and happy about that. Still once in a while i miss the supper strong lights, not enoght to go back thought.
