Low Slip fees, IE $3,000 per year for a 50’ slip
    No Liveaboard fees or limitations
    No State Taxes
Everybody that lives in Alaska gets paid by the state just to live here
    Services close by
Moderate weather... If you are familiar with the PACNW, our winter temperatures are around 10 degrees colder than Seattle.
We have the best wilderness cruising in the whole country
If you like fishing, our area of Alaska is the best in the nation for Salmon and Halibut.

Here is a photo from my slip

Not a lot, normally a couple thousand. It depends on how well our states investments work out.
No income tax either, or state sales tax.

Where does the State get funds? Fishing industry? Oil? Must be a lot of dollars invested. Government operations must be expensive - helicopters, boats, snowmobiles, quads, and officials.

Alaska gets it’s revenue from the oil industry. Right now there is no income or state sales tax, although there are local sales taxes.

Like many states we have overspent, and are in a period of budget correction, although we have several billion dollars in our budget reserve accounts.

The “permenant fund” is a bucket of money that is for the most part separate from government operations. The source of the money came from the initial Prudhoe Bay oilfield buildout back in the early 70’s I think. It is managed as an investment account for the benefit of all citizens of Alaska. Each year we are paid a dividend based on the funds performance in a pretty complex formula.

Thanks man. We learn something new every day. I recall doing a pro oil line speech to my high school class in the mid 70's.
