    Puget Sound Halibut Opened!

    Finally, the Governor of Washington decided that Halibut fishing wasn't any more likely to spread Coronavirus than fishing for Lingcod. (he's a REALLY smart dude!)

    Marine Areas 5 – 10 opened yesterday, May 20, and open days will be alternating: May 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, June 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29.

    Of course, yesterday there were Small Craft Advisories and Gale Warnings pretty much all over the Strait of Juan DeFuca, so few could get out past Burroughs Bay (my 2855 didn't like the 35 knot winds).

    Saw this as well. Maybe I’ll get the engine in and go bounce a line off the bottom somewhere, Never tried for halibut...just itching to get back on my boat!

      I fished more for Halibut with our 20' cuddy, but sold it when we got our 2855. Biggest flattie I landed was 55 pounds.
