    I am officially in Canada!!!

    Check in was easy peasy. Upload proof of vaccination status on the arrivecan app, two minutes on my cell phone with a lady at customs, and I was granted access.

    I'm at Cow Bay Marina in Prince Rupert. Right now I am waiting on the harbormaster to bring me a gate ket so I can go enjoy a beer in Breakers Pub!

      NIce, Congrats Kevin and welcome to Canada! did you clear the customs at the dock of have to wait offshore? (just in case I ever decide to return to the PNW with my boat!) I dream of exploring BC and points north!

      Welcome to Canada! And for the record, it's not that bad of a run past Metlakatla... looks worse on the chart than it really is

    A bit on Canadian Customs as present...

    You NEED the arrivecan application. This is their covid clearance form and as far as I know it is a firm requirement for entry.

    The application is easy.... For each person you scan their passport to prove identity. Then you scan your proof of vaccine status.
    For those that are unvaccinated I am not sure of the rules.

    Then within 72 hours of docking in Canada you answer a few health related questions and you get a code to give to customs.

    Then...

    When you are tied up in a designated telephone reporting approved harbor you call the Customs folks 800 number.
    They asked me a few questions and gave me a entry number to record. I was on the phone way less than 5 minutes.

    Easy peasy

      Kevin mentioned being in Anacortes on the 18th for a haulout, so after today it would leave him about 400 miles in 4 days.

      Kevin - we were just out of North Harbor Diesel. I'm not sure who you're working with there either Patrick or Delva but they were fairly flexible getting us in their yard for work HOWEVER, they were quite a bit delayed in getting to the work (almost two weeks). It would be prudent to talk with them and tell them you need an in/out appt vs. a "get to it when you can" appt. They are super backed up like everyone else in the service business due to a lack of employees. Anyway, safe travels today Kevin and hopefully this information helps you in some way.

      I'll give dianna a call on Monday. i have a slip in Tacoma but if I had to leave the boat on the hard for a couple weeks that would not be a problem either.

      I got a late start due to getting fuel. Who knows how far I will make it before nightfall. I'll be looking at anchorages to stop at overnight when I get a better feel as to my progress today.

          After a nice uneventful night at anchor here is the plan for today.

          I know for certain that I will not cover the whole 150nm today, not a chance, I'm just cruising along enjoying the scenery and will end up where I end up tonight.

                    Good morning!!!!

                    The plan for today is to make it to Port Mcneill BC 112NM away anc across Queen Charlott Strait.
                    In order to make it in a reasonable amount of time I am increasing my speed to 9 knots which is about the fastest I can go at hull speed.
