He's on the move again. The weather has improved and apparently he is trying to make it to Ketchikan. Safe cruising Kevin!Retired, computer expert / executive

He's put in a very long day. Hope he arrives safely in Ketchikan. Years ago, Admiral and I did a 100-mile leg in our 26' Carver Monterey. It was a long day and even though there wasn't much physical activity, we were both very tired when we tossed fenders and secured the dock lines."Del-Sea"

Well, he is inside the Ketchikan City Floats. I am not sure how recent the latest data feed is but it seems he is there safe and sound. I bet he sleeps a sound sleep tonight. Was risky but well done!Retired, computer expert / executive

That last run went fairly late (11 PM), maybe seeing the city lights was an insensitive.
He’s been up early again this morning, probably topping off the fuel tanks. Cool to see he’s progress.
Go Kevin👍🏼Dave

Thanks guys, a bit of an update.
Yesterday the channelized wind caught me. I measured 44 MPH on my wind eter and was moving at 7 knots at the time so I was pushing into a 37 knot wind, with infinite fetch.
The waves were terrible! Very steep!
I hid out in an anchorage, collected my thoughts and looked at the forecast, which at that time was not pleasant for today.
The wind was dropping so I went out again, thinking if the waves were too large I would go to the next anchorage only 4 miles away. I continued that way until I passed the last secure anchorage at Myers Chuck
By then the weinds and waves had subsided to be easily manageable 4 footers. The last two hours I got after it in order to make it to ketchikan around dark.
Today I am tied up at City Float in Ketchikan. Last night I moored in the loading zone as it was the only thing empty, and this morning really early I found a open spot in this all transient little harbor.
I am not traveling today, and will spend the day relaxing, making some minor repairs, and re provisioning. The weather forecast for Dixon entrance today is not so good, but tomorrow looks better. Like every day I'll re-evaluate the weather in the morning.

I paid $8.00 a gallon in Yakutat and $5 in Juneau
I think I'll top off before leaving tomorrow

Hi Kevin, We hope you had a good and relaxing day off, now we need you to get going again tomorrow because the excitement has disappeared from our day when you are not in motion and we have no one to track on this greatest of adventures!Cool Change - 1999 4788330 Cummins

I love Ketchikan and a lot of people there, but it has to be one of the most boring towns in Alaska, unless you are fishing. The worst restaurant food (excluding those who have sovereign rights), and one of the most tourist-centric towns in the world. The cruise ships lease a majority of the shops in that end of town and sell crap to the tourists that they bring into town. Every car has a green side. The salmon are big there because it rains so much there, they can get upstream to easy natural hatcheries. If you got lost on that island, and died from hunger, it would be from stupidity, or because you messed with a bear.
I sound like a city boy. You will be contiguous state-side soon, Kev. Enjoy the next leg.
