Words of wisdom on Mother’s Day. My mom constantly told me to “smell the roses along the way”. You are traveling through what is arguably some of the most beautiful waters in the world. Don’t get tunnel vision and miss the grandeur. People spend more for a trip on a cruise ship than you will on fuel to make this trip and only get a snapshot. I really encourage you to take a couple of days and go to Princess Louisa if nothing else.

That is wonderful advice!
The only challenge is that I have spent a lifetime boating in this paradise.
I know that sounds silly to folks that have never been here but the wonderful terrain, the glaciers, all that is exactly what I've been doing for decades.
The place for me to take my time is seattle south.
You left just in time. A large lanslide blocked the road to Seward today, and they don't know when it will reopen.

Roy, I heard Hot Bites got renamed, and sold. I ate there myself years ago when my sons wife was stationed in Juneau
I'll go through Wrangell Narrows Rocky Pass looks scary
The plan for today is to make way to Petersburg Alaska. I got moving at 0500 and am making RPM for 8 knots.
People might wonder why are you moving so fast since you are retired?
The reason is that first I have seen plenty of beautiful forests during my 32 years in Alaska.
2nd is that my truck is waiting in Tacoma and the transport folks want it gone.
3rd is that I have a haulout and survey scheduled in Anacortes for the 18th if I can make it.
I also have a stuck seacock that I need to have replaced at that time, and getting haulout dates is not easy right now.
Kevin, very much enjoying following you. Just as an FYI, I can see you just fine with your SPOT, but you're not showing up on Marine Traffic. I believe you were going to dbl check your AIS to see if it's transmitting.. It doesn't appear to be.
Love it. “Honey, we’re not taking that Alaskan Cruise after all, I’m instead following this guy’s trip, with a view much closer to the water on the internet. Cook me up some Asian and Indian food like on the ship would ya.”

I figured out the AIS issue. There was a "gps rollover" event in January toat disabled transmit on all Furuno FA50 AIS units. There is a free software update which I installed!
The problem is now solved. I also got a new MSSI number and re-programmed the AIS for the correct boat name.

Rocky Pass is a hoot and it would have been shorter but the timing is bad right now. I wondered why you turned north out of Icy Strait but that appointment in Anacortes doesn't give you time to fool around waiting for tides. Good luck on Dixon Entrance. We crossed it 3 times without incident but the 4th time more than made up for the others.

Kevin, what is the new(?) MMSI number on Dos PECES?Also, have you done a calculation of your fuel consumption up to this point? Many folks are watching your progress. Good luck to you. What an adventure and achievement!
P.S. Your existing MMSI 338139395 finds MV LISAS WAY on all my applications but there is no up to date info. I can use only the website that you gave to track your progress.
