Nice looking 38! Shed kept is a plus for sure. 130 HP Mitsubishi diesels were the original engine in these years, Hino's were later.

Why do you think that boat is a “good deal”? Have you not noticed what newer Hino powered ones have been selling for the past 15 years? Perhaps you missed the threads here of people seeking (nonexistent )parts for those engines? Think old Volvos are hard to find parts for? When did tunnel drives become “easy to handle in a marina?” One head doesn’t work, and there’s sink leaking issues? Why wouldn’t the broker invest a couple of hundred bucks to fix these minor issues if he/she is so confident of its condition?
IF the boat house in included, that would be its value. Sealants dry out, and they dried out on all of them decades ago. One day in a heavy rain, and this boat would literally be a seive.

I don't think the Mitsubishi's were inherently bad engines, they are simply getting older and parts are getting harder to find. That said, I've never owned or worked on them.
At 130 HP they were pretty under stressed engines that would push the 38 at hull speed only.
