Since my wife retired, we do a lot of camping in our travel trailer.
My Capri 1952 understands
Just returned from a quick 5 day jaunt up over the Cascades to a place called Alta Lake.
We had to miss the trout opener, which is this Saturday, so I could fly down to be at my grandson's birthday party this year.
Folks called the Alta Anglers have been attending the opener for over 50 years, the guy who pulled in the day before we left to come home, dad started it when he was only 8, he is now 70.
He said they have folks who come as far away as New Zealand to attend.
It was chilly still, the snow was about 500 feet above us and that wind cut like a knife.
When the clouds cleared at night the starts sparkled like diamonds, it was beautiful.....BUT COLD!
The mountains still got an inch of two of fresh snow while we were there, but the roads are in great shape.
