US Marine is a rebuilder that offers almost any brand that you can think of. If you email them the serial #, they should be able to answer your questions. The color of the engine may also be a key. What drive do you have on it? The engine will usually be of the same manufacturer.

Having said that his thermostat housing , mounting of the fuel pump and the throttle cable mount looks identical to mine which are marine power engine so maybe that is what he has.
Marine power engines of that period are not the same as those of today. A completely different company. I believe that perhaps the were struggling back then and the name may have been sold various times.
Now my engines were made by marine power but were really chriscraft engines.
Do your engines have cast iron oil pans? If so the are the chriscraft engines. If that is the case go here for parts
