Guest repliedUpdate
Servicing these is pretty simple i wish i had done it earlier, A special tool isn't needed to remove the end cap, just use an angle grinder tool the pins don't match but if you insert one pin you can lever the other pin against the cap edge.
There was a build up and a bit of corrosion around the scraper area in the end cap !!!
Does anyone know if a new seal kit includes a scraper ?

Guest repliedHi
Thanks for the replies,
I couldn't spin the cylinder ram by hand i had to use a small bar !!
So i've just stripped one of the cylinders and it is spotless inside with no water ingress, however the end cap is realy tight i'm having to use a vice and a rubber mallet to knock the end cap down the ram.
This has got to be the cause of the problem, i was going to buy a new seal kit, however is it just corrosion in the cap around the scraper and washer and will a clean suffice, or should i buy a repair kit ?

Have you checked to make sure that your pump reservoir is full. Low oil could also affect the pump, but you'll need to find out where it went..

Your seals are shot....B2 seal set is about 20$ a cylinder. I just redid mine and found the shaft to end cap seals had rotted and 'welded' themselves to the rod. Easy fix. I do recommend doing both cylinders and changing all the O-rings even though some of the old rings may look ok.

Trim and tilt help please.-gctid356723
Hi
I posted this problem last year but still unresolved.
When trimming down the outdrive will not go all the way down, it stops with about 1/4 travel remaining, to get it all the way down i have to repeatedly raise and lower about 5 or 6 times before i get it fully trimmed down.
There are no issues with trimming up or the trailer switch, just down.
You can hear the motor running etc.
Also the amount of travel left is about the same amount that the trim limit switch controls.
Any opinions or ideas as to what i should look at first would be appreciated.
