  • Spectrum Color - Gel Coat-gctid356185

I contacted Spectrum Color today to track down the gray gel coat for my 89 2655. I've read on this forum that you can call with your hull id and they can look up the gel coat for your boat. According to Spectrum, they can't do anything with a hull number. They also can't look up gel coat on bayliners prior to 91. I was told to contact US Marine. I can't seem to find a number on them. Can someone help?

Thank you. I called US Marine and they looked up the numbers I needed. In case anyone needs the spectrum #'s for an 89 2655.

              Hi Alex,

What I got was the patch paste. I think each color comes with 2 oz. I think you'll need to patch your repair with fiberglass or epoxy and then cover with the patch past or gel coat.

The patch past is $23 per 2 oz. container. To get a quart of colormatched gelcoat from spectrum is around $105 from spectrum, at least for a non-dealer.

Alex if you need numbers for your 88 let me know. I found a US Marine parts cross reference document on the internet.

Isn't your repair on the bottom of your boat? If so, you may not to color match. Couldn't you just gel coat it with white from west marine ($20 per quart) and then bottom paint?
