How to remove 288 Discovery bridge seats for reupholstering?-gctid462776

Has anyone removed the bridge seats in a 288 Discovery for reupholstering? Mine are sun damaged and stained. Will I need a chain saw and blasting caps? Is painting the vinyl a reasonable alternative?

    Thanks for any info/advice.

I'll be watching your post for answers. I too have been considering removing my seats. A quick view did not lead to how to remove them. Hopeful someone can save us both time.

I pulled em and had mine done. I do remember screws going from inside up through the bottom seat and then tabs behind that to get the backrest out. I'll try to remember to check it tomorrow and maybe even snap some pics.

Remove the inside ceiling panel under the long bottom seat. There are four screws. The small bottom seat is only wedged and once they're out the back rest has tabs screwed in. I have pics if you need them.

Photos would be helpful. My seats are fine, but you never know...
