Tried to remove the upper gear housing the one with 4 boats facing the engine...got 2 out but the other 2 would not turn at all...is it ok to apply heat here???Mapp gas only.

30 minutes? May be an excessive amount of heat🤔

With Mapp gas I’ve turned steel a glowing yellow in far less time.
I'm not familiar with the VP stuff so I can’t really offer any help here. Rick has likely already gone to bed but will be up at 2:45 sucking down multiple cups of coffee.

          .

Which two components are not coming loose?

...female yoke from AFT PDS splines?
...male yoke from main drive gear?

If you rounded out the hex sockets, you will now be taking the transmission to a machinist for some milling machine work.
My suggestion: DO NOT..... repeat... DO NOT attempt to drill the hex heads off!

Can we clear something up before you visit the witch doctor?

Take another look at my first image in post # 20.

The PDS (primary drive shaft) has only two male splines on it.
You'll see the Borg Warner male splines at the front of it, and you'll see the Volvo Penta male splines at the rear of it.

The universal drive shaft has two yokes.
One female yoke at the front (the one that slides over the AFT end of the PDS) and one male yoke at the rear (the one that slides into the transmission's main drive gear).

I can help you if I know where the problem is.
