    Agree about there not being a correlation to the drive leak but blueish smoke typically would be engine oil while a rich mixture would typically be black smoke.

      UPDATE - finally pulled the boat from the water and it was a crack in the bullet. So, off to the Marina it went to get insurance claim work. New lower unit, prop and fiberglass repair in the horizon. Thank you to everyone for the suggestions!

            Good that it will covered by ins. One tip when refilling the drive, pump in the gear oil slowly that allows any air bubbles to rise to the top. Also it’s good to let it sit for several hrs and recheck before you put the boat back in service, because then the air bubble may have burst the level can drop, and you can replenish it so that its not low. I've always done this with the OMC Cobra that I've had for 18 years and there have been times where I had to add a bit.
