Bayliner 2859 - household size toilet

Goibg to install an electric toilet in my 2859. Would like to upsize from the compact size bowl.

Any 2859 owners try this? Any tips? Is there room and if so what brand is the most reliable that will fit?

A house style china bowl toilet empties via gravity.
It also requires this style connection with a wax ring seal.

It also requires water in the bowl to create the P trap effect that prevents the gasses from entering the area.

How do you plan to make this work on a boat?????

I would search for an over-sized marine head.

Sorry. I meant to say I would like to go to the regular size bowl from the compact size bowl that is oem on the 2859.

I've seen them referred to as a household size. Not an actual household toilet.

Not sure if there is enough room in the 2859 to upsize to an electric regular size bowl toilet

Not sure what you have nowpnow but I put a full sized Raritan elegance in the same footprint as the jabsco electric head on my 3788. The Raritan sits closer to the wall allowing more room for the bowl. Think it's same for thetford.

Install it on the flybridge of course. Come on Rick, use your head.

I'm rather embarrassed............ I should have considered that!
            Great idea, by the way!

You could replace the flybridge Captain's chair with a porcelain THRONE. That's really using your Head..

Yes I have put a household sized head in two 2859’s and they fit just fine.

The specific model I used was the raritan Sea-Era but I think the brand is not relevant, the size is the important consideration.

I put the Aqua T household size in both my 3988 heads. A little extra work and wiring because they have a remote pump but they are very quiet and the Admiral was very pleased.

You just made the admiral very happy! She wanted an electric toilet. I wanted the household sized bowl.

You wouldn't happen to have any pics of your install by chance??

I replaced the midget toilet on my old 2858, similar sized compartment. I used an electric household size, that the current owner just converted to fresh water flush. Whatever toilet you get, good chance the bolts won't line up, but no worries. I fashioned a new floorplate out of 1/4" Star board, still looks great.

Sorry no photos, that was a couple of boats and over a decade ago

I really like everything Raritan makes. Great people, great quality, great support.

I just ordered a new jabsco regular size toilet for my 2859. Supposedly the bowls are interchangeable, so all I will need to is swap out the compact for the regular bowl. I just hope the lid and seat will have enough angle to stay up, since the back of the bowl will be 1 1/2” closer to the wall and the lid is 3” longer.
