An OMC is super simple if you follow some basic steps. It can even be done in shallow water. There are three bolts on the outside cover at the top of the drive and three bolts holding the impeller cover remove those. Remove the primer hose from the housing. Remove the rubber gasket from the housing, then the cage over the impeller pulls straight off with the impeller inside. Remove the metal plate (it is not attached) and the gasket under it.

Ensure you have an impeller kit from BRP.

Install the plate gasket and plate. Push the new impeller into the new cage. Line up the impeller and cage with the shaft and push the impeller and cage onto the shaft until you hear a click. Move the impeller housing untill you line up the bolt holes. Remove the impeller housing apply a thin coat of silicone to the housing grove and place the new rubber gasket into the silicone. Push the housing back onto the shaft without twisting the housing. The holes hould still line up. Rebolt everything and you should be good to go. Dont forget to put the priming hose back onto the impeller cover.

You should now be good to go :-)
