I have a 2859 ...all the screws are hidden behind 'folds'. To make life easy I replaced the hidden screws with 1 1/2" screws with trim washers. Makes things very easy.

I don't have a 2859, but I've seen three general ways to get behind the panel. 1) Access from under the dash 2) removal of a upholstered panel and 3) access through a round hatch.

Looking at the pictures, I would say that the panel must come off. The question is, how to re attach it.

I would remove the shift handle and trim covers and inspect the area behind for clues.

I own a 1993 2859 Classic Crusier and need to get behind the starboard helm panel. This is the large panel that houses the shift lever. How to I remove this panel. Any help will be appreciated.
