Water in under dinette stowage 2855-gctid407189

We were out at our boat this weekend and saw some wet carpet on the second day. The carpet was wet by the fridge. I looked in the stowage area under the dinette and it had water in it. This area is between the AC unit and the fridge. We got it all dried out and the water came back. It appears to be coming in on the fridge side of the box. I pulled out the fridge and found NO place for a drip tube. I looked in the bilge area and only saw the small amount of water which I am told is normal for correct bilge pump operation. The ac drip tray had some water in it but was not overflowing. It was well over 100 degrees this past weekend so my guess is that it is some sort of condensation.

I am no expert and before I BOAT (bust out another thousand) for a repair person to troubleshoot and fix, I was hoping someone here may have experience with this to help out????? I have shut both off for now and will be checking in a few days. HELP!

I'm afraid that I am probably not much help, but am interested in what you found (if anything?). I have a 2855, so I'm always looking for solutions to problems that may sneak up. Any chance it could be a leak from the shower drain? Just a thought. Hope you found one of the wonderful $3 fixes....they occasionally happen

Soooo, Had everything off for a couple of days and ventured out to the boat yesterday. Everything was dry. I turned on the AC and let it run for a couple of hours. Still dry. Now I either ruled the ac out or didnt let it run long enough. Not sure which. Left fridge off cause wont be able to get out there for over a week and sure dont want everything soaked if that is it.

Sure do hope to find a $3 fix!

Any help would be great and I will keep this up to date as we move forward with water.

I'm not sure of your set up, but what I can offer is there would be no water coming from the refrigerator as they are not self-defrosting units. Your A/C will generate considerable run-off into the tray which would either be drained via tube to a thru hull overboard, or more likely into the forward bilge area. My A/C unit drains thru the under dinette flip up stowage area in a tube to the mid bilge. If that A/C drain tube clogged, or the tube cracked water would overflow or leak into that stowage area and possibly onto your carpet if your set up is like mine.

The boat is a 1999. The area that was wet is in the flip up stowage under the dinette. I will check those lines to see if plugged. I checked the runoff tray and it was not overflowing. The boat has a marine air set up and was working alot over that weekend (about 115 here) and I am sure that had something to do with it. Also got a tip to check the fresh water tank. Add that to my to do list.
