I have a Garmin 540s flush mounted on my Discovery 246. I tried pulling out the unit itself and also removed screws and tried to pull off entire dash panel but it wouldn't budge. Any suggestions on best way to gain access to the back of the unit? Thanks.

The upper panel holding all of your gauges is easily removed by taking out the retaining screws. Assuming that your GPS is recessed into the dash, you can now at least see how it is attached and may be able to access the connections as well.
Hope this helps.
