RPM(39)s Speed and prop pitch choice-gctid403468

Hey Guys I need a little help. On plane cruising I'm running at around 3700 rpms at aroung 21-22.5 mph depending on wind. The boat is a Contessa Sunbridge 2850 with a single 350 and a 280 volvo single prop drive. The prop is a 15 x 16. First is this a normal running rpm for a single? Would it help raise the pitch? I'm not sure what the WOT rpm is I'm guessing around 4300-4400 I know I've seen at least 4000.

    Thanks for any help Brian.

I have the same boat, originally with a SP 280. I went to a 16 x 13 prop and it made a HUGE difference. I now have a DP running B 2's. On plain at under 3000 and have topped out under ideal conditions at 39 MPH. WOT for that boat, with a 260A is 4400 RPM.
