    Harmonic balancer mercruiser 3.0

Hi guys looking for advise, I have no idea what I an talking about and don't want to look like an idiot when I talk to the boat mechanic . I started my 2006 bayliner 175 yesterday and the bottom wheel that comes out of the engine where the altenator, water pump belt gose around. Started wobbling. Is this the harmonic balancer . Any way must it be replaced and can the engine be left in to do it, it is a very tight space. Any advise much appreciated.

    Welcome Aboard !

Here is the front bracket ... http://www.marineengine.com/parts/me...ngine-mounting

Lower pic should be your mount.

    Here's the balancer ... # 22 http://www.marineengine.com/parts/me...000-thru-0w301

How the replacement should be preformed, support the front of the engine, Remove the top of the front bracket, remove the belt or belts if you have power steering, need a puller to pull the balancer / pulley, the center bolt has to be removed.

What i do is use a socket with a breaker bar, jam the bar and hit the starter, the bolt will screw out just one or 2 seconds will do it.

New part in hand, hour labor maybe less from start to finish.

New site click on the pics will enlarge them.
