    Analog to Nmea2000 Convertors - Mercruiser 5.7 2004

Wonder if anyone has setup one of the many analog to Nmea200 devices to send engine data to a Simrad or Lowrance ? Was hoping to learn from someone else experience before taking this on myself.

Here is the different ones I have found

    DMK AEM14
    Noland RS11
    Alba-Combi Engine Monitor
    2004 Trophy 2359
    5.7 liter Carb
    15 hp Merc Kicker

I haven't used them but many people have made positive comments on

Thanks for the info! That article had great information.

I have nothing to offer about the engine monitors specifically, but my boat is set up with the Noland sensors for fuel, freshwater, fuel flow and they work well.

as for setting up the engine sensors, I believe its all plug and play... just like connecting your existing sender to a gauge only you are connecting to the module, and the canbus cable takes the information from ALL sensors connected in the engine bay to the gauges and displays... when using a display, you can set it for what functions you want to activate and see, and on what page and in what order you want to see them.

I think they are nearly all the same as for connectivity, but some have a couple more features than others, so depending on your needs now and for future additions, buy what will work for you.

the size of boat and number of engines will dictate the model you need to some extent, but as for my 25, if I were to install one, the basic model to monitor one engine would work just fine....
