Part numbers needed for Manifolds/Risers/Elbows for 2005 Bayliner 245 5.0

Rust appearing on the outside of the Elbow near the rubber boot. Also some surface rust on the riser on the driver side.

Anyway have the parts or links for the replacements? Aftermarket is fine with me.

You can call Mercruiser with your eng8ne serial number and they will give you the part number but this is easy just search for mercruiser 5.0/5.7 dry joint exhaust as they are all the same.

      Here’s a link to the 2bbl 5.0 through 2001. http://www.mercruiserparts.com/5-0l-...-1998-2001-0l0
Merc parts are very serial number driven, so this will be close but may not be perfect. If you search Mercruiser parts there are several sites that have the same schematics and I believe Crowley lists aftermarket parts as alternatives on the parts sheet. It takes some patience and practice to zoom in then find out what part number 8 on the picture is on the parts list.

That’s the value of the microfiche. The merc part number will provide the correct cross reference to other makers. It also why using your serial number is important.

Pic of the current system. Hoping I caught the issue in time.

FYI the part numbers are on the components. Also most kits do not include the spacers/risers so you will need to order them separately

What has everyone typically seen with these dry systems. Do the manifolds still need to be replaced or is it usually the risers that only need replacing. Im 1200 miles away from the boat and wont be back by it for 3 weeks. Was hoping to order the parts so they are ready before getting back down to Florida.

What problems are you experiencing? From looking at your photos, this appears to be an issue with the finish and not necessarily a mechanical issue. Are you leaking because it doesn't look like it. Absent a mechanical issue, treat it with some Ospho and repaint.

12 year old cast iron exhaust system on a raw water cooled Florida boat weather dry joint or not sould be completely replaced IMO.
