How hard is it to change the oil pressure sensors and ware is it located? Oil pressure at 40 at idle and than starts to bounce around to 0 and back to 40 like there is a short init.temp gauge not working also so ware would this be located? It's a 87 2160 3.0 l cobra. I think the motor is a GM. Thanks, Mike.

The oil pressure gauge sending unit is usually installed in the rear oil galley port, just behind the intake manifold, Port side.

have you cheked the supply to your gauges first as if there not good the sensors are not going to be stable or work either.remove all cables on back of clocks clean and replace.then see if there's any difference.
u can check the oil sensor by unplugging and earthing.the gauge should peg fully.chance is when boat is moving something is loose.sensor should be ok as it reads 40 when a good contact is available and i'd be more worried if it read 10 or 20 then you'd have oil pressure problem.
