    Battery Cable source

Here's a good source for made up battery cables if you are working on a DC project. https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/b...373930137.html
Convenient if you live in the Anacortes, La Conner area, bit of a drive from Seattle, but Kalvin knows what he is talking about and does great work at a fair price.

For those in the Vancouver, BC area looking for batteries, boxes or cables, these guys supply excellent gear at reasonable prices. They will make up cables per your needs. I purchased my six, 6V batteries from them, my starting batteries, along with new cases and cables on my 1987 3870.

As for chopper1952 comment, it sounds like he may have a short whether in the wiring system, or a severe short with in a battery. It the latter the battery should be getting hot I would think if put on a charger? I would test each battery to define which one is the problem. He doesn't note what boat, how many batteries on board, which circuit is impacted - starting or house. Need more information to comment much more.
