  • Looking for a Surveyor with exceptional knowledge of bayliners

First, yes I am a wear that I am doing this backwards.

I fell into a 1985 4550 for what I believe is 1/3 its estimated value. Allowing emotion to lock the sale in before the boat went to market, I bought with out a survey. I have had a couple before and was less than impressed with the surveyor and his communication, inspection process and evaluations. For the money spent I expect more than a report that is a cut and paste of other reports. (literal verbiage that dose not relate to my boat)

If you have had a great experience with a surveyor in the Seattle/Tacoma area I would love a recommendation.

I highly recommend Cale Mathers. He is very familiar with Bayliners and is an awesome surveyor. He's based in Bellingham but I believe that he'll travel to Seattle/Tacoma.

I can't say enough good about Wayne Gilham out of Tacoma. He came to Bellevue to survey our 3818 and did an amazing job. He's primarily a sailboat guy but I got a 53 page document that covers every inch of my boat. I've lived aboard for over a year now and after he walked me thru the survey I haven't had a single surprise. He didn't miss a thing on these boats and also took the time to show every potential future issue to be aware of. PM me if you want his number; otherwise you can find him online
