  • Cavitation ring on Bravo II-gctid827906

I have a 1993 Bravo II. My diver is telling me that my cavitation ring on the Prop is missing. Not sure what the significance of this is and how easy it is to replace. Any comments would be appreciated.

I had this happen on an Alpha prop and would occasionally experience prop blow out in turns when on plane. A prop should be able to repair it. Worst case get a new prop and keep this one as a spare.

My current prop and my spare (both quicksilver) have no type of extra ring. Maybe some manufacturers have them and some don't???

I broke a cavitation ring a couple years ago. A prop shop charged $20 and it took him 3 minutes to install.

Some manufacturers, such as Mercury Marine, cast the cavitation ring integral with the hub casting.

Many thanks for the good advice. I am buying a new Prop and will keep the old one as a spare.
