    Stiff steering wheel...-gctid826118

I find very difficult to ride my brand new Element 160 boat at cruise or high speed. The steering wheel is particularly very stiff. The dealer seems to think everything is fine... Has anyone experienced a similar situation?

Maybe you can find a screw underneath the steering wheel box, some systems use this screw to put tension on the steering wheel so it won┬┤t turn if you take your hands off (cablesteering).

Hydraulic steering tends to lock when you let go of the steering wheeel.

Thanks for your comment! I'll look underneath to see if I can find a way to loosen up the steering wheel.

If its okay at low speed but seems to pull to the right and stiffen up at high speed then its a torque issue. Try trimming the motor out a bit and that should help.

This is an outboard boat? I'd agree that drive trim angle will have a massive impact on the torque steer your experiencing.
