Needing pre drill dimensions for camper enclosure hull fittings-gctid825134

I NEED HELP WITH DIMENSION "X" in the pictures. I happened across a complete camper enclosure from an '88 2655 Ciera S.B. Mine only has the Bimini the fwd so I need the measurements for the fittings for the camper frame legs from the reference line aft as well as how far across the width of the nonskid Gunwale top where the rail, pump out, fresh water and fuel ports are. The '88 had the teak railing around the stern as does mine but folks parting the '88 out have been less than helpful as the said they would be with follow up info once I received the parts. I'm confident I could piece the enclosure together and get close but don't want to have a saggy top when finished. Sides and snaps are no prob as the canvas shop is leaving them for me to match/ install I will be posting two Biminis with front and side window zip ins and one complete frame associated with this project as well in classified, special parts and the 2655 Owner's sections. See picture for dimension needed. Thanks

    Dave

    Good Morning HueyCrew!

I would start by zipping the aft section to the forward section and position all supports as needed to keep the top tight!

You might find that it will take a couple of friends and some beer to get it close!

Just go light on the beer until all is done!!!!

    Good luck!

I am in the same situation as you only I don't have the canvas yet. Where did you find the canvas? I just marked the front mounts as far forward as possible to allow entry from side and the other two as far back as possible. I have not removed the railings. Please keep me informed on your progress. I also changed the u shaped couch ?? upstairs to a fold down bed. Mine is like yours only is a 1988 2655. Garchar.

Thanks Don. I always have the Captain on board and a stock of coke LOL I got the complete top and a spare Bimini from an '88 I found in Ky that Unlimited Marine in Russell Springs is parting out, along with some other parts back in July. I think it's listed in Classifieds since there's a lot of good stuff still on and in the hull. They took in in as an insurance total loss and are parting it out before scrapping the hull. 88 through 90's were pretty much the same hull so lots will interchange.

Garcher! How've ya been? Solved my unreadable rocker switch panel issue at the same stop, the '88 It lived a covered slip life so I got the rocker, complete with smooth rockers and very readable identification ( going to take some of the money I was going to spend on a custom panel and add some LED indicators so I'll be able to see if the bilge pumps come on in auto mode possibly along with audio for the cabin if I'm asleep... and a switch and light for eng overheat...maybe), Bimini (with side windows), camper enclosure (both with frames), the vert hatch for the aft berth, fwd tinted upper lexan window ( head to dinette), oval table, pole and mount for eng hatch, spare fwd table and pole, various fittings and hardware, deck carpets for templates (actually they're not in to bad shape. May squeeze a year or two out on them first), 18" trim tabs to replace my 10" ones, extra shore pwr cord ( my 90 uses one for house and one for A/C.) all for $700!! I'll post pictures in COMPLETED PROJECTS once I actually finish something LOL! Spent winter sharing the den bringing life back to the arch. and helm seat rebuild. Completed it and am 90% on the inst pnl. rest waiting on install, waiting on rewire, waiting on...... Did manage to get the helm seat refurbished....good practice for the U lounge. Kim at Canvas Plus found and gave me full sized patterns for it. After it's finished I'll pass the patterns along to the next person pondering that project.

They say Leta's Top Shop bought up many ole bimini and camper patterns from B-liner like Kim did for upholstery. She made all my vinyl covers. The canvas though I'm using someone local that was referred and provided references. Logistically I recommend and prefer local to keep the money closer to home and be able to go by in person, saving shipping. But then I have to be a tight-wad on my salary. I

ll post a heads up here when the canvas is in COMPLETED projects.

          Vu Ja De!

Just got a text from the place in Ky with the '88 with a drawing showing the dimensions off the '88! Soon as I figure out how to get it into the laptop I'll post it here so you can compare. I'm in Tx for school so if I cant get it posted tonight have a look back around this same time tomorrow.

Hoping when I get back home the cooler temps will get me motivated and back to buffing, wiring, and buffing and wiring.......

Here's what they sent: The text says the 2" measurement is for fittings that are ON THE STERN top edge and not gunwale sides. No mention of how far from center though so I guess I'll see where the legs touch down.
