Greetings All

Who knows the fuse locations and identifiaction for the various fuse blocks on the boat ? Im trying to find out why ny NAV and other related lights arent working but need to be able to identify the fuses to start there. I found a fuse block under the steering wheel and I know there is at least 1 more in the engine bay. Can someone here guide me on my 1987 Bayliner Ciera Sunbridge fuse identification ?

Recently re-wired my Trophy 2502. Previous owners spliced and re-spliced multiple colors and cables. Needless to say it was a mess.

I removed all old wires and ran new wires to all electrical devices and electronics. Installed new breakers (Blue Sea Systems- WeatherDeck)

It would almost be impossible to guess which wire runs to which device. (you can test one by one and through elimination determine which ones are the culprits)

If you suspect a blown fuse, just check all of them. (no identification required)

Looking at your picture- there is a lot of corrosion on the fuse holder. This could be causing a break in the circuit.

Testing each circuit with a multi meter might assist with finding the problem.

If all else fails, replace your current fuse block and label devices by turning them on and testing them one by one.

My 26 was like that

Go get a sea dog or similar fuse box for marine use and remove that.

It will take no time and it will save you a ton of grief

I think they are around $40 on eBay

The fuse holders get rusty and are junk

Mark the fuse location with a sharpy

Does anyone see a problem changing to the attached type of fuse block ? It looks like mine holds 12 but I cant find an upgraded one like that with a 12 count. I have found this type and it comes with a cover and supports up to 12 . Does it matter or should I stick with the type I have and go with a dual 6 fuse blocks ?

Does the power come directly from the battery or from a BUS bar?

If you go for dual blocks, you would have to split the power supply to the two blocks (or two spots on your BUS bar). A single block would be easier to wire from a single source. (ensure that the wire gauge is adequate to supply all loads simultaneously from the block)

Ultimately it is a matter of personal preference.

The most important job of any fuse block setup is the protection of each individual circuit. Therefore, the most important part is matching correctly rated fuses with each circuit.
