    1990 2002 Capri issues-gctid824967

I recently bought my second boat. It's in great shape but when I went out to the lake today the tilt worked and then it didn't. Eventually it worked again and then it didn't. I kept having to wait long periods of time for it to function again. Anybody have similar issues?

Issue #2. None of my lights work. Does anybody have a wiring diagram for early 90's capris?

Issue #3 my tilt leaks when it actually works. I have read the sticky about how to trouble shoot it and plan on looking into it during the off-season. Is there any chance that issue 1 and 3 are related?

Issue #4 my gas gauge doesn't work properly. It usually reads 3/4 full all the time. Today it read between 1/4 and 1/2. Any suggestions?

Number 1 is probably bad soleniods in the trim pump. Do they click? Typicall they click but the contacts are pitted so there is a voltage drop to the motor.

Number 3 is the leak internal or on the trim cylinders?

Number 4 first disconnect the fuel sender wire on the sendor then ground it, if the gauge reads empty the full the sendor is bad.

No clicks. Seems like it isn't getting any power.

The motor leaks down not a physical leak.

How do I get to the fuel tank?

Not fimilar with your boat but most acces to the back of the tank just forward of the engine which is where the sendor is located.

Can you see the back end of the tank? Sendor is the round plate with two wires for the sendor.

I can't easily access my fuel tank. The boat has an outboard and previous owner did his own repairs.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the fuses? Seems like only 2 wires are connected to the negative lead. None of my switches work.
