    Bayliner 1710 Ignition Question-gctid824322

    Hi Guys,

This is my 1st post. I have an 85 Bayliner 1710 Trophy Bass Boat with an 85hp Force Motor. I am putting in a new ignition switch cause previous owner had a mess with wiring. I have most of the wires connected but engine will not crank unless I jump a cable from the battery to the red cable from wiring harness. Not sure if I'm saying this correctly. Am I missing something or am I supposed to add a hot wire from battery to ignition switch. Any help appreciated. Wiring spec does not show wire from battery to ignition switch.

In the wiring diagram you provided the "B" terminal is power or battery, when starting the ignition switch should connect this terminal to the start "S" terminal.

So i traced the red wire to the powerhead and it did not have power either.

I would start at the battery and trace the red wires until you find where 12V no longer exists.
