    2052 Shifter Panel Removal-gctid823589

    Hi,

I recently purchased a 1999 Bayliner 2052 and have been working over everything that has needed replacing. The latest in the Quicksilver 3000 shifter/throttle control, which I am replacing with a sea star ch1752p. I replaced one on my 2859 with no problem, however I don't understand how the shifter panel is intended to be removed. There are no exposed screws, no upholstery flaps concealing them as in the 2859, and no access from behind as that area is completely glassed in.

Any input from others who have the same boat or a similar shifter panel setup? I will include pictures later, but at the moment I don't have access.

    Thanks for the help!

To remove mine I had to reach in though the parcel shelf there is just enough room at the top had to borrow the neighbours skinny teenager for one or to and if i remember correctly though the speaker hole. Once I figured out where the bolts where it was pretty easy I started at the rear end and made my way foward

Thanks, that's the direction I thought this was headed although I was hoping otherwise since there is such little access. Plus, the speaker being sealed in somehow, and plastic, I fear cracking it trying to remove. I don't see any other way this is coming out though.

Do you have pics of the area? Sometimes that can help those of us who had never seen your model
