The shut off solenoid on my Mits engines has stopped working. When the solenoid is activated should it pull the rod in or push it out? I plan to take it out. I could have a bad ground or a bad hot lead. I have power to the shut off button.

Take it out a give it a good cleaning, replace the connectors then bench test it. Put my Onan shut down right back to work.
