    AC STOPS WORKING - TROUBLESHOOTING HELP-gctid818544

    Hello All

    Really thought I may have licked this thing after speaking with Cruisair and getting tips from them. Here is the problem; AC Unit runs fine for 3-5 minutes then the compressor shuts off and blows warm to hot air. The thermostat digital reader goes crazy with numbers jumping all over the place between 60 and 90 D.

    I've followed Cruisair suggestions;

    Inspected all contacts (looks good no corrosion)

    Cleaned the contacts with an electrical spry cleaner

    Cleaned the strainer (it was/is OK)

    Cleaned the air filter at the unit (was dirty)

    Blew out the cooling lines with fresh water (after the pump)

    Replaced the Temperature sensor

    Factory reset thermostat

    Waiting on AC Mechanic to call his minimum is $200.

    Thanks

    If it has a digital panel then you can use it to retrieve the fault code to lead you to the problem.

    Do yo have the digital readout handbook?

    Is this the first time you are using the AC this year?

      I did a factory reset of thermostat and have looked at the OM troubleshooting guide. Stuck at this point.

        Was it working earlier in the season? Are you sure the power to the boat and the AC is a full voltage?

          It was working fine 4-5 hours before it shut down right after a thunder storm. No noticeable loss in power. Like I said it runs fine for 3-5 minutes then the compressor kicks off, let it set starts up runs another 3-5 minutes. Tried it a 2 separate marina power stations, same results. I do not have a way to check the power level to the unit I'll pass onto the tech on Wednesday.
