    Seatalk-ng and NMEA 183-gctid818379

Was wondering if anyone tried connecting a NMEA 183 chart plotter (HDS 7 in my case) or similar to Raymarine SeaTalk-ng network. Is it possible?

I updated my original Raymarine system (2001) a couple of seasons back. I retained some of the original Seatalk 1 nmea 0183, Seatalk NG and also integrated with the current high speed Raynet NMEA2000, etc. Raymarine makes a set of converter blocks and various network connector cables that allow these to work together. Due to the evolution of the standards it can be a little confusing to figure it out, but there is a Raymarine web forum that has some threads that may help and the forum is supported by Raymarine. I'll go look for the web URL and add it to the thread. It is a bit ad-hoc but may have something helpful.
