    New GPS Speedo-gctid817225

I am replacing the gauges in my 2002 175, and reading thru the manual before I install I had some questions....these would be easier to diagnose if I was sitting on the boat perhaps...

The old speedo is the pilot tube type. The new speedo asks for 4 wired connections, a blade light connection (exists now), and then it asks for a signal (power) from the ignition side of the 12v, ground, and a BATT (always on) side of the 12v.

I assumed ALL of the gauges that I'm switching out got the power from the ignition side of the 12V. There is a fuse panel that they all connect to that I assume is powered by the key. I've added a fuse panel for all the other toys in the boat not wired thru the ignition. Do I power the 'always on' from this fuse panel, and then run a separate power for the ignition side power from the original fuse panel that the other instruments are on?

For what its worth, the manual for the GPS speedo is IS0364b at https://fariabeede.com/2-pages/manuals.php if you wanted to read quickly what Im talking about.

The constant 12V+ is so that the GPS is instant on for the speed accuracy. It won't have to search for satellites then show you speed. You might want to keep a battery maintainer on during storage of the boat. Or you could wire it to something hot with the battery on and not key sw on. That way it wouldn't run down the battery when you shut the switch off, and when you turn the battery on it will start looking for position. My .02

Thanks. I disconnect the battery at the marina as it has a small draw already and will go dead within 7 days. Still need to figure out the correct wiring schematic.
