2004 245 sb Ciera with the 5.0/a1g2 combo. It had a stock 15x16 Mercruiser aluminum prop on it that wasn't in the best of shape.....just old. It was hard to plane and sometimes required my wife to move forward towards the bow to plane.
Cruising rpm was 4000-4200 rpm with a top speed of 33 mph at 4500 rpms. Any less than 4000 rpms would fall off plane.
Found a like new Michigan Wheel stainless steel 14 5/8 x16 prop on Ebay and pulled the trigger based on feedback here.
One word...INCREDIBLE. I don't get how this prop has made the boat so much better being close to the same diameter/pitch as stock but what an upgrade.
Boat now planes easily and will plane with no trim tabs in a quicker time than it had previously with tabs.
Cruising rpm is now 3500-3700 rpms and top speed of 38mph......just DO IT!
