    Odd noise while starting - 2005 195br-gctid814782

Hi. I am new to the forum and am not the most mechanically inclined. It hoping to get some advice before going to the mechanic. My mercruiser 3.0L has developed a grinding noise right as it starts (video attached of me starting it). Runs great once it starts but still really concerns me. Any ideas as to what could be causing this noise?

I cant seem to upload a video here but this link to my google drive will show me starting the motor. Or if you would prefer and are willing to help I would be more than happy to email you the video. I don't really know how to explain it without a video.

Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Sounds like the starter is not disengaging from the flywheel fast enough after the engine starts. Some corrosion between the flywheel and starter pinion might be hanging it up. Something might be sticking electrically in your start circuit and the solenoid is not disengaging when you let off the key.

Disconnect the battery, grab the starter see if it wiggles, if yes tighten down the bolts.
